Abstract:
A variety of IT solutions, e-learning and mobile applications create new possibilities for education, considering both teaching and learning point of view. Certain new criteria for the course programme with some blended learning elements should be taken into account, e.g. flexibility in teacher-student communication, building not only classroom, but also online learning community, e-learning, activation training, organising of subjects and work, scoring system, keeping up students motivation, coordination of different sources of information and applications used in the whole course.

The course described in this study is held at the Faculty of Geodesy, Geospatial and Civil Engineering and deals with the implementation and conceptual basis of building the national spatial data infrastructure and its integration with the INSPIRE. The course programme has been based on 10 years experience of the authors' training.

The aim of paper is to present the concept of the programme modification for the purpose of incorporating new learning methods and IT solutions into the course and to meet the students' needs. A selection of certain blended learning techniques adjusted to the course's goals and intended effects is discussed. Furthermore, the proposals of the e-learning tasks' scope and integration of different forms of teacher-student communication, as well as some first findings from practice are also described.
