Abstract:
ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) is a set of procedures that were developed by the European Commission and its main purpose is to harmonize the legal rules relating to the process of organizing studies and significantly improve the study at European universities.

The aim of the study has been to investigate students' opinions about the effectiveness of information flow on the ECTS.

The first part of this paper justifies the need to provide information about ECTS introduction into the educational programs of higher education schools of economics based on the literature review and the authors' experience.

The results of a survey of January 2018 are presented in the second part of this paper. The survey (pilot) questionnaire has been released among 4 groups students of the Faculty of Management at the UTP University of Science and Technology in Bydgoszcz (a total of 164 students). An e-survey created in Google Forms has been used as a research tool.

Depending on the B.Sc. or M.Sc. programme, the respondents obtained information about the ECTS in one of the following fields: Management - B.Sc. or M.Sc. programme, Management and Production Engineering - B.Sc. or M.Sc. programme, Finance and Accounting - B.Sc. programme.

The research results confirm the possession of sufficient knowledge about the ECTS among students of the Faculty of Management. Students positively assessed not only the desirability of presenting detailed information about the ECTS, but also indicated where to find the right information.
