Abstract:
Enterprise systems are implemented almost in every medium and large company It particularly applies ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. An increasing number of universities introduce into their curricula courses that allow students to gain both general knowledge of ERP systems and practical skills in this type of tools.

The aim of the study was to investigate student’s opinions about advisability of teaching and quality of education in terms of functionality of ERP enterprise systems.

The first part of this paper justifies the need for ERP systems introduction into economic universities curricula, based on the literature review and authors experience.

The results of a survey that has been conducted in January 2016 have been presented in the second part of this paper. The survey questionnaire has been released among 3 groups of Management, Management and Production Engineering students of Faculty of Management at the UTP University of Science and Technology in Bydgoszcz (a total of 107 students). An electronic survey created in Google Forms has been used as a research tool.

Depending on the field of study and studies degree, the surveyed students learned ERP system at one of the following subjects: Computer Science in Management (Management - undergraduate), Information Systems and Knowledge Management (Management - Master's graduate) and Integrated Management Systems (ERP) (Management and Production Engineering - graduate). Courses have been conducted in the form of lectures and practical classes in the computer laboratory.

The research results confirm the validity of the use of ERP systems in the academic educational process in the field of management. The quality of courses as well as legitimacy of course realization in computer laboratories have been evaluated positively.

95% of students have rated positively (definitely good and rather good) the level of courses implementation. Nearly 60% of surveyed students indicated at the same time the possibility of acquired knowledge and skills application in their future professional careers.
