Abstract:
The article describes the functioning of speech etiquette units in certain typical communication situations, united by a common intention of compliments. The authors suggest the definition of a piropo-compliment. The article distinguishes and classifies piropos by lexical and semantic principles of the parts of speech, which act as modes of address. It designs the main groups of metaphors, detects the modes of compellations in the structure of compliments, reveals those forms of compellations that are typical for Spanish in general, as well as for regionalisms, operating in different national variations of the Spanish language. The article deals with colloquialisms, as well as investigates the piropo-compellations as nouns, adjectives and participles. The authors consider it is possible to use some of the mentioned provisions in the practice of teaching Spanish, namely, while preparing communicatively oriented textbooks on modern speech etiquette of Spanish-speaking countries. We hope this will help to avoid the misuse of speech units, distortion in translation, difficulties in communication, and will facilitate understanding of fiction texts.
