Abstract:
Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology which allows virtual objects appear to coexist within the real world. AR has been widely applied in education and numerous studies by educators and researchers support this technology and its potential applications in education. This research aims to evaluate the effects of Augmented Reality (AR) integration towards a college yearbook in terms of readership. The researchers also investigate students’ attitude towards the reading material. The researchers developed an AR integrated college yearbook and evaluated the readership effects of AR integration. 60 students answered a set of questionnaire and six students were interviewed for focus group feedback. The AR integrated college yearbook provides a fresh approach in the reading process compared to a conventional yearbook. The findings of this study suggest that AR could enhance a conventional reading material and this could provide an effective guideline to make the integration of AR towards conventional reading materials more effective.
