Abstract:
Globalization is a word that is used a lot around Education.

All companies need to think about Global Education once they’re selling their products in multiple countries.

With the move to Cloud based Software, Education Globalization means more than providing skills in certain countries. Theoretically, we’re facing the need to find ways to provide all education in any country of the world if we want to satisfy the users’ skill needs of any Cloud based product.

In this paper, we’re going to do a deep dive into the example of one of the top ten information technology companies who understood they must increase Education coverage from around 60 to close to 170 countries to cope with the future. Besides coverage increase the objective was to maintain the high quality and to triple the skills worldwide.

To be able to position the example correctly:
- We’ll start with a review of the decision process behind the globalization project,
- We’ll understand their definition of coverage and success factors to be able to review the outcome later.

In the main section, the focus is going to be on the results of this education globalization approach three years after the project completion.

On one hand, we’ll look purely to the outcome under the aspects of coverage definition, on the other hand, we’ll review changes that happened around Education Methodologies that were not foreseen.

We’ll then end with lessons learnt and a discussion around the challenges that exist in the new model and possible solutions.
