The integrated professional-competent model of a translator defines competency as a multielement personality structure which includes interaction of the key competencies which are developed throughout adoption of theoretical and practical knowledge of a person. Competency is defined as a specific group of subcompetencies – the complex of knowledge, skills, abilities and qualities, which all together help a person to perform in a variety of situations, including new ones. It is noteworthy that competency elements are activated via so called competence components which are implemented within competencies by specific activities.
