Abstract:
With the supporting of UNICEF, the National Center for Educational Technology Ministry of Education(NCET) in China started the "China and UNICEF Training Project for Stricken Areas Teachers" (hereinafter referred to as the "Project") in early 2010. The project will be identified as 5 project counties in Beichuan County, Qingchuan County, Mianzhu City, Shifang City and Xihe County in Gansu Province, which are seriously affected. Through the preliminary investigation on various counties and districts, it has been found that "hardware" reconstruction work such as teaching facilities in the reconstruction of the disaster-stricken areas has basically been completed. At that time, the key to enhancing the quality of education in disaster-stricken areas was the improvement of teachers' teaching ability.
The specific objectives of the project are:
1) to enable nearly 10,000 teachers in project counties to receive high-quality professional development support;
2) to benefit 100,000 county students from high-quality education;
3) to systematically monitor the implementation of the project, Exploring effective ways to develop teachers' professional abilities in underdeveloped areas.
The project contents are as follows:
1) Provide a small amount of necessary hardware and equipment for school-based training (digital video camera, high-definition television, etc.) for each project school; and
2) Conduct systematic training on effective teaching and information technology application for teachers in project counties.
The project is expected to cycle (2010 to the end of 2014).The main contents of the first three rounds of training are effective teaching and training (including classroom observation and evaluation, effective classroom introduction, effective classroom teaching, classroom questioning and feedback, group discussion and cooperative learning, and after-school homework management 6 modules) Disaster area teachers lack of information technology capabilities, low utilization of ICT equipment, the dynamic increase of information technology application capacity training (including the use of network learning platform, network resource retrieval download, PPT courseware application, special teaching site production, information technology and Curriculum integration, etc.).
In the future, NCET will try to introduce training mode to more schools and benefit more teachers and students in China.Keywords:
