Abstract:
Teaching English and Kazakh languages for professional purposes at technical universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan is of enormous significance due to great demand in the country for highly qualified specialists with good command of Kazakh and English. Kazakhstan is developing its industrial sector and needs engineers and other technicians. The strategy "Kazakhstan-2050" covers a range of directions in the activities of the state organs and education is one of the key spheres. Developing industry seeks for professionals of new generation. It is important to underline that good knowledge of the general English language and technical terms would help graduates get postgraduate education at best universities of the world to implement new knowledge and experience in practice in their country.

The authors recommend using at the lessons of Kazakh and English along with traditional teaching methods various modern effective methods and techniques, such as profession-oriented situations, case studies, problem solving, business and role plays, projects and brainstorming. They share and compare experience gained at their educational institutions and prove the productivity of the teaching programs by the results of surveys which reflect the answers of students and graduates.

Appropriate combination of traditional teaching methods and modern ones help in establishing in a classroom the atmosphere of creativity and increases student motivation.
