Abstract:
The ambitions of a young regional Kazakhstani university include internationalization of education, entering the European Higher Education Area, being the scientific, educational and cultural center of the region. These ambitions stimulate the university to use the opportunities of Erasmus+ projects as the tool to fulfill the university commitments. Erasmus+ program aims at streamlining the education, training, boosting professional and soft skills and improving employability. The program significantly increases investments in the human development, modernization and reimagining the system of education in Kazakhstan in general through introducing changes at each participating institution. The Bologna principles unify universities and people, building shared knowledge and understanding of education. The article overviews and describes the implementation of Erasmus+ projects in A.Baitursynov Kostanay State University.

The purpose of this article is to describe the impact of the Erasmus+ projects, making stress on advantages and challenges, to share the experience on one of the ongoing projects and ideas on the perspectives of Erasmus+ in Kazakhstan. Multiple effects of Erasmus+ projects at professional, individual and institutional levels are studied. Much attention is given to investigating problems connected with writing initial proposals and existing discrepancies between the systems of education of Kazakhstan and Europe.
