Abstract:
Today, the internet and the virtual environment are not only an adult part of life, but are becoming more common at a younger age. However, proficiency in the use of cyberspace requires, in addition to knowledge of the IT environment, the use of emotional and psychosocial maturity. The paper draws attention to the pitfalls of cyberspace for older school-aged pupils and the importance of preventive measures to minimize these dangers on the internet. The aim of the research was to find out and compare the opinions of two generations. From the point of view of the informative value of parents and their children for behaviour in the virtual space, it was irreplaceable and important in the research to observe the assessment of these phenomena from the perspective of two generations. The research was carried out using a self-designed questionnaire, which surveyed the views of parents and their children on the virtual environment. The questionnaire was distributed to a total of 70 respondents. The research sample consisted of 35 older school-aged children and 35 parents of these children. They expressed their position on a scale of important, middle, unimportant to the set of 21 statements. The statements focused on individual areas of ethical behaviour in the virtual space. To compare the answers of children and parents, we used correspondence analysis, which allows to show hidden internal associations in the table of the number of answers to individual questions. Its direct application is the representation of correspondence of categories of variables, characters that are measured on a nominal scale The creation of a subjective map - a correspondence map - serves to transfer data and better understand the results through this method. Based on the results, we conclude recommendations for practice that will provide incentives for intergenerational learning, because it is also justified in the prevention of aggression and violence, not only in the real environment but also in the virtual one. Keywords:
