Abstract:
One of the strategic directions for the development of society is safety and health education. Health and safety education aims to: reduce the risks of premature death, injury, disease, increase life expectancy and improve living standards. This education is a necessary component of the stable development of society. At the current stage in Ukraine, health and safety education includes training on countering war risks and overcoming their consequences.
Examining the prospects for school safety and health education involves identifying trends in the types and number of hazards. The main research methods were statistical analysis, content and comparative analysis. Analysis of trends and forecasts of human morbidity in individual regions. Changes and trends in non-occupational injuries and mortality. The programs recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine were studied using content analysis. This study made it possible to determine the relevance of the topics to the problems that students of education have encountered now or will encounter in the future. A comparative analysis of the topic of prevention and protection against military dangers makes it easy to single out the necessary content, add one or another topic that is important from the point of view of operational circumstances related to war.
Research has shown that a significant number of issues that are relevant to people are not included in health and safety curricula. Some topics are not given enough attention. For example, not enough attention is paid to topics related to the prevention of bad habits and the formation of a healthy lifestyle. Matters relevant to health and life expectancy are not included in the training. Suicide prevention issues are not included in the training programs. According to statistics, suicide mortality is the main cause of non-industrial mortality in Ukraine (not including mortality due to war).
Today, safety, health and welfare education covers many different issues. The course covers, for example, hygiene, disease prevention, pre-medical care, safety at home, safety in transport, anti-bullying, safe communication, income and expenses, consumer culture, humanity, sensitivity, etc.
In connection with Russia's war against Ukraine, to the subject "Basics of Health" and the integrated course "Health. security and well-being" added more than 30 topics on the prevention of risks that arise during war.
Scientific and technical progress creates new dangers, which parents do not know how to prevent and cannot teach their children. For example, there are risks associated with the virtual environment.
Further transformation and development of safety, health and welfare education will take several directions. First, it is an improvement in the level of personal and collective security against man-made and natural threats. Secondly, it is an improvement in the level of security associated with the virtual environment and information technologies. The third is the formation of a healthy lifestyle in order to improve the quality of life and extend active longevity. Fourth, it is protection against threats that arise unexpectedly, for example, protection against military threats that arose as a result of Russia's war against Ukraine.
Thus, the prospects for the development of school safety and health education must take into account the operational and long-term trends of risks to people's health and life. Keywords:
