Abstract:
This document describes a research experience that seeks to expand the coverage of Institutional Welfare Services (IWS) associated with e-learning program called: Master in Management of Educational Technology of the Universidad de Santander - Colombia. In Colombia, the Ministry of National Education and the National Council of Higher Education - CESU establish guidelines and recommendations on the subject of institutional welfare, being the development of it mandatory. When reviewing the baseline of coverage of programs and welfare services at the University of Santander, it is found that it is high (> 80%) in face-to-face courses but very low (<10%) in virtual courses.

The main goal of the proposal is to formulate strategies for the design of guidelines that facilitate and motivate the access of those who make up the educational community of the master's degree. In this sense, mixed research is proposed in the following phases:
i) Review the baseline of the population (educational community of the master's program) identifying coverage, demographic information, interest in activities for their well-being, among others. This first process focuses on the identification of this information through a survey, applied to a significant sample of students, teachers and the coordinating team of the program.
ii) Identify the state of art of the subject and the dynamics of other higher education institutions, national and international, models, guidelines, activities, strategies and generates good practices to incorporate the concept of welfare in the education community virtual.
iii) Develop a reference document with strategies, guidelines and activities to be incorporated into the action plan of the University Welfare Department of UDES. This should incorporate the elements collected from phases i and ii.
iv) Validate the set of guidelines and strategies through the expert judgment methodology.
v) Socialize results to the academic community of the University and propose strategies for their incorporation from the corresponding instances.

The main results of the project were:
i) Baseline of the academic community of the Master's program in Management of Educational Technology on the areas of Institutional Wellbeing,
ii) Reference document with guidelines and strategies for the incorporation of welfare activities university in the academic community of virtual methodology
