Abstract:
One of the problems that teachers of different levels of education find in their students is that the students sometimes don’t know all the contents and they have not reached all the abilities and competences that the teachers expect. This is an important problem because in some cases there is an important step from one level to the following one (from Primary to Secondary School and from Secondary School to University level). It is supposed that there is a good coordination between different levels of education and this situation is not real, but an important number of teachers think that their students didn´t learned enough in the previous level.

In our experience as teachers of different levels of education (pre-University level and University level) we have seen important problems of coordination and we think this is a problem that is real in a lot of cases. To find better strategies of coordination must be an important aim to improve the quality of our students’ education.

In this contribution we show the results of an study about the most important difficulties that the teachers find in their students when the students begin the University level: what the teachers expect and what the students really know. We have focused our study in general competences (ability of working in a group, oral and written expression,…) and we show a plan of coordination between pre-University level and University level to improve the training in general competences of the students in pre-University level.
