Abstract:
There are significant changes of the economy and society in the last years, which have undoubtedly influenced the management practices in universities, both within the education area, and the research area. Hence, the aim of this study is to reveal recent research focused on new experiences in university research management in Romania. The paper reveals firstly some new trends in university research management, with a view to identify several features that enhance the research cooperation and, consequently, the research outcomes. By revealing the old trends and the new trends in a comparative approach, we manage to disclose the main changes in university research management. Secondly, the paper emphasizes a case study on research management at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, from Romania. In this regard, an online platform for gathering and analyzing the research outcomes is presented, in order to reveal some new practices in university research management. The research was conducted using evidence provided by articles, such as research papers, conceptual papers, and literature reviews, as well as reports and other publications. The research question was answered by analyzing and evaluating published sources, and by interpreting and reorganizing concepts. This research contributes to the existing literature as it discloses new experiences in managing research at university level, and the findings of this paper may be used for upcoming research in the area of university research management.
