VALIDATION OF AN INSTRUMENT TO RELATE THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE AND THE SATISFACTION OF THE TRAINING RECEIVED FROM THE MASTER'S GRADUATE

Abstract:
The present investigation has the objective of validate a quantitative instrument that allows understanding the learning experience and the satisfaction of the training received from the master's degree graduate. We consider important the development of this type of work, since there are no instruments of this type for the sector studied and because satisfaction has not been linked to the learning experience, which encompasses the academic and emotional work carried out by the teacher and the execution of the curricular plan. In this sense, the objective of this research is to validate an instrument that can be used to measure the correlation between postgraduate student satisfaction and the learning experience received. To do it, we follow the following steps: first, different instruments made on student satisfaction were analyzed. Of these, the lack of instruments was found in the postgraduate space, specifically master's degrees. On the other hand, it was decided to propose, based on Maslow's satisfaction theories and Ryan and Deci's intrinsic satisfaction, an instrument that covers in a complex way the relationship between the two previously mentioned variables. The instrument is a questionnaire with closed questions. Once the instrument was completed, a validation by experts was carried out. The instrument was provided to three experts, all from the field of higher education for their respective validation. The following criteria were observed: sufficiency, clarity, coherence and relevance. From the aforementioned review, 83% overall validity was achieved. After this process, a pilot test was carried out. According to the reliability analysis, the instrument has an alpha coefficient of 97.5%. In that sense, the instrument has a negligible variation in its responses. Therefore, the results of the learning experiences and their relationship with the satisfaction of the training will be 97.5% reliable. In short, we validate an instrument that can be used in different postgraduate higher education contexts.
