Abstract:
Since contemporary society makes high demands on a university graduate, the intensification of education continues to be one of the major problems of higher education pedagogy. We see the intensification of the educational process as transmitting a larger volume of educational information to students for a period determined by the training programme without reducing the requirements for the quality of knowledge and abilities necessary for the chosen professional sphere. The research aims to consider the conditions and some effective educational technologies essential for the intensification of teaching the English language to students specializing in geology, hydrogeology and geophysics. The article reveals the results of the experiment conducted on the site of the Kazan Federal University on intensifying the educational process using such effective educational technologies as information and communication, project, problem-based learning, gaming technologies and case study. The analysis of the experimental results shows that the intensification of training develops the motivation for study, language proficiency, and educational autonomy of students.
