Abstract:
Background:
Adapting the environment to the needs, and especially the psychosomatic capabilities of a human being is necessary to improve the quality of life.

Awareness of the built environment influence on the well-being and human health is a very important factor enabling designing a healthy and a friendly environment.

To this, it is necessary to know about the rules governing perception and the psychological significance of colors. The article discusses issues related to the process of education in the field of fine arts related to color, introduced at the Faculty of Architecture of the Silesian University of Technology, majoring in Interior Design.

It presents an exercise performed by students of the 1st year of study in the subject of Psychophysiology of Vision which is helpful in building design skills necessary in practicing the profession.

Purpose:
Based on participant observation and analysis of selected works authors proof that learning about colour completes the teaching process and show how important issues regarding visual perception including color impact are.

Conclusion:
Knowledge gained within the subject and used in creative work is a necessary experience to create conscious design space.
