Abstract:
In recent years public universities in Andalusia have funded a number of innovative projects aimed at improving the teaching of subjects in their degree. This paper highlights the achievements acquired by students who take part in one of these projects at the University of Jaen. In this project, students could choose from a part of the subject more related to the practical, individualized goal that they seem more in line with their prior knowledge and their own interests. Students and the teacher agree to develop an individualized project taking into account the theoretical content of the course. Each project must have at least two students, so that students are able to improve their skills on teamwork, decision-making and independent learning, qualities that are in high demand in the selective processes of incorporation to companies engineering. In this way could further motivate students and also improve their academic grades. This article presents the improvement that has occurred in the scores of students who participated in this project compared to those who chose traditional teaching. The study is done for different courses with and without participation in the project in order to compare statistically. All courses are adapted to European Credit Transfer System. Keywords:
