Abstract:
The rapid development of information and knowledge technology has an impact on teacher competencies which need to be upgraded every time. The purpose of this study was to explore innovations in the pedagogic competence of elementary school teachers. This study uses a qualitative case study approach. The informants of this study were 5 elementary school teachers in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Data collection techniques using the interview method. The results of this study are related to innovations in the pedagogic competence of elementary school teachers that need to be developed and improved, including the application of technology to build systems in understanding student characteristics, the process of preparing technology-based learning, developing student potential according to current needs, conducting learning assessments and student daily assessments, and pedagogic communication to improve bonding with students, parents, and teachers. The results of this study become an important recommendation for elementary school teachers to be able to understand and recognize students more closely and specifically. It is also important to confirm this research for teachers in Indonesia so that it can complement comprehensive data for similar research.
