Abstract:
One of the challenges faced by university lecturers in the era of information and communication technologies is wether there is an optimal option to convert a practice-oriented course into blended university course.

A study of the didactic potential of blended learning for knowledge and skills building in practical oriented university courses for students – prospective teachers in biology studying at Faculty of Biology, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", as well as students form English Language Faculty of Engineering, Industrial Engineering course, Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria.

The model described addresses the development of the following key competences for lifelong learning: knowledge in the field of biosciences and technologies, common learning skills and digital competence.

Part of the model is a generalized system of practical tasks and open questions that are implemented through the tools of the electronic learning environment:Moodle.The methods used are theoretical analysis and synthesis, pedagogical modelling and survey.
