It can be said that portfolio is a system to present the personal skills. This system may improve the worthiness of the contents or decrease the value of the projects presented.

Portfolio can be presented in two different medium; virtual and physical one. These two mediums have their own prominent advantages. Traditional portfolios with its three dimensionality point up touch sensation and increase their own value. They have to be carried and this can be thought as a disadvantage besides this, owner of the portfolio is to be there to present it. But digital portfolios do not take up a space. They are easy to mail to any web address. They can include some datas like music and movies so that they can point up sense of hearing. A designer or an artist can have options like having both kind of portfolios. If the designer have these two types, so it will be useful to have a consistent and similar layout and organization in both of them. No matter which medium is used, a portfolio must present the most powerful aspects of the owner. The most important thing is the quality of the contents rather than quantity of them. Portfolios include some contents like the owner's educational information, credentials, work experiences, level of language information, hardware and software knowledge, references and hobbies.
