Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to analyze deliberate practice of expertise development process of 'Skilled-Talents in Numerical Control' in order to obtain the highest level of expertise in China. The primary goal of this study was to find out how skilled-talents developed their expertise through deliberate practice to achieve excellence in the area, and what were the facilitating factors and restraining factors of the deliberate practice. Through this can be offered some implications to the organizations and governments in order to nurture talents having a higher level of expertise.In this study, according to a qualitative research paradigm, there were 12 skilled-talents who each has the 'Technician Qualification Certificate in Numerical Control', and were chosen by using criterion-based selection and network selection methods.The three research questions of this study are primarily analyzed and the results of the study are as follows: First, how the deliberate practice manifests in accordance with the stage of expertise development?Second, how deliberate practice represent differences at the formulation stage and deepening stage of expertise development?Third, what are the facilitating factors and restraining factors of the deliberate practice in the expertise development process? This study has the following findings. First, we observe the change of deliberate practice in the stages of expertise development. Second, except the time factor of deliberate practice which usually discussed in other studies, we confirm the characteristics and facilitating factors of deliberate practice in different stages and adopt qualitative research methods for this analysis. Third, we confirm the importance of cooperation with colleagues and organizational supports in deliberate practice of skilled-talents in numerical control.Keywords:
