Abstract:
The fourth industrial revolution, better known as "Industry 4.0", requires new and effective mechanisms for the formation of digital competencies, which are different from those used so far in the generally accepted higher education system.

We believe that using popular open technology platforms for creating and maintaining personal electronic diaries (blogs) is an effective tool for acquiring the necessary practical experience in the formation of digital competencies. The goal of the study is to describe the technology of creating a student’s blog site with Wordpress and reveal the influence of the student's personal electronic diary (blog) on the formation of students’ integrated competences in digital technologies and in the field of economics. The article presents the results of 10-year experience using the WordPress platform in the educational process of students majoring in "Business Informatics". It is shown that when having received a personal site on the Wordpress platform in the multisite configuration the students acquire basic communication and content management skills in a short time working in the closed social network of the training group. We revealed that after creating a personal web site using the Wordpress platform on free hosting sites and registering a unique domain name, students' full-stack developer competency is formed, which equally well copes with the writing of the front-end and back-end service-oriented e-commerce web applications.
