Abstract:
With the advent of the pandemic era, it is becoming increasingly important for teachers to be able to use emerging digital content creation tools to design digitalized course content. This study explored the use of the emerging digital content creation tool "Adobe Captivate" to develop digital teaching materials suitable for both face-to-face and distance teaching. We used the prototyping method through needs analysis, prototype creation, student experience, and maintenance for development, and exported the SCORM format and imported it into the Moodle platform for teaching use. A semi-structured qualitative study was adopted to interview 10 teachers who had used "Adobe Captivate" to create teaching materials. To enhance credibility, triangulation was also used to confirm the interview questions.

The following four points were verified through this research method:
(1) whether traditional teaching materials can be quickly converted into digital teaching materials;
(2) whether the teaching materials can present the teacher's operation trajectory;
(3) whether it helps teachers implement online assessments;
(4) whether distance teaching materials can record students' learning processes.

The results showed that:
(1) the Captivate software can effectively record and present the teacher's teaching operation trajectory as part of the digital teaching materials;
(2) The digital teaching materials produced by Captivate can embed formative and summative assessments to test students' learning;
(3) Captivate's distance teaching digital teaching platform supports SCORM format and can record students' learning processes, including learning time and assignment submissions;
(4) The Captivate software can improve the efficiency of teachers in designing digital teaching materials suitable for face-to-face and distance teaching.

The research concluded that using the Captivate digital content creation tool can indeed effectively assist teachers in converting traditional teaching materials into digital teaching materials suitable for face-to-face and distance teaching with embedded assessments. Its SCORM format allows the teaching platform to record learning trajectories, fully meeting the requirements of teachers for digital teaching materials. Additionally, teachers generally believe that Captivate can quickly improve the efficiency of designing digital courses.

The research suggests that:
(1) relevant software operation and digital teaching material production training should be provided to teachers;
(2) Encourage teachers to use such tools to design digital teaching materials in response to future sudden pandemics;
(3) The learning effectiveness of students using digitally designed teaching materials made with this software can be studied in the future.
