THE STUDY ON THE PROCESS OF INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE BASED TEACHING MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT IN TAIWAN

Abstract:
Indigenous curriculum development center launched indigenous knowledge based teaching material development in 2014. The characters could be analyzed as follows. Besides taking indigenous knowledge as the center, it also focuses on Chinese, Math, Science, and English as the field of the teaching material development. Based on its particularity of history, this study explores the process of indigenous knowledge based teaching material development in Pingtung county in Taiwan. In order to achieve the purpose, the study adopt literature review, data analysis and interview. Through the analysis of relative data, this study found that the teaching material development mainly lie in practicing the idea of complete indigenous school curriculum. Second, the n process of the teaching materials in every field will all go through teaching material design, pilot teaching, review, and modification. Third, the characters of the teaching materials basically are three parts.
(1) the content and organization take the reference of textbooks edits by the private publisher,
(2) the choice of content highlights indigenous knowledge based and also deals with the mainstream culture,
(3) the design of content also deals with the necessary knowledge of the compulsory education stage.

Fourth, the production of this teaching materials actually converges historical factors, competition discourse, interpersonal interactions and even includes specific life history. Based the aforementioned research findings, this study proposes results and the implication.
