Abstract:
Education is the key to achieving sustainable human development, and economic and educational development are inextricably linked. At present, the world is in an economic crisis triggered by the epidemic. According to statistics, the cumulative loss of global GDP in 2020 and 2021 may reach about $9 trillion, which is larger than the combined economy of Japan and Germany. The economic crisis has an important impact on the development of global education.

The economic crisis will lead to factories’ closure, increased unemployment and reduced state tax revenue. The tight state finances will reduce investment in education, which will interrupt the construction of hardware educational facilities and slow down the process of educational technology research and development. In addition, many academic seminars and research studies have to be cancelled, thereby slowing down educational innovation and reform.

For schools, the basic position of education, first of all, educators will face salary reduction or postponement, which will greatly affect teachers' motivation and lead to a decline in teaching quality. The reduction of scholarship places in schools makes some students consider moving from school to society, and the entry of young people who have not received systematic education and have no skills into society will undoubtedly become a factor of social instability. In addition, we have to consider that the closure of factories and enterprises has reduced job opportunities, making some young people who cannot enter university because of poor grades after graduation from high school have no place to settle. The state has to introduce relevant policies to reduce the factors of social instability. In the 1990s, China lowered its admission standards and accepted these young people through the expansion of university enrollment and the upgrading of colleges and universities. The most direct impact is the decline in the quality of talents due to the lack of educational hardware and software facilities.

Another aspect that cannot be ignored is that family education is very important for a person's future growth and development. The economic crisis has led to a reduction in family income and even to difficulties, and parents have invested less in their children's education. Parents spend more time running for life, resulting in less time to accompany their children, and thus resulting in a decline in the quality of family education.

Education enables us to obtain a meaningful life and is the main force to promote the progress of human civilization. The author of the article suggests to develop new educational models and methods to reduce the impact of the economic crisis on education, share responsibility for the future of sustainable development, and look forward to a new era of global education without crisis.
