Abstract:
The unexpected COVID-19 has caused more concerns about environmental and ecological issues and raised people’s awareness to maintain the stable development of the social, economic environment. This article, taking an ecological perspective, argues how online education in the current era is similar to an ecosystem, which is still in the process of development and innovation. There are unfavorable factors, typically from the unprecedented disasters or pandemics, that affect the state of ecological balance, involving the teaching modes, dynamics, and constructs in colleges and universities. The development indirectly affects the overall teaching quality and comprehensive competitiveness of colleges and universities. Therefore, effective measures must be taken in time to change the status quo of development and promote higher-quality teaching models in the post-COVID-19 era. This article presents a systematic analysis of the difficulties, challenges, and concerns of online education and offers insights on how online education can be developed in the future.
