Abstract:
In this paper, we want to show how a Learning Ecosystem (LE) and a Learning Management System (LMS) can be developed into a Learning Experience System (LXP) based on a use case considering the Qualifications-Based Learning Model (QBLM) and the eXperience Application Programming Interface (xAPI). A LXP is used to provide user-centric learning content and learning content in different learning modalities, for example a Moodle course, an Applied Game (AG), etc. To this end, we first describe the background and motivation for this work. Afterwards, we go into the state of the art in the area of existing technologies. For this purpose, we describe the concept of Didactical Structural Templates, analysis methods in the field of learning and education, and the principal approach of Microservices. Subsequently, we will conceptualize the LXP system based on the selected use cases in the higher education sector and demonstrate the Proof of Concept (PoC) realization and initial evaluation using a Cognitive Walkthrough (CW) based on the projects „Psychologische Arbeitsgestaltung ErLeben" (PAGEL), and Gaming Analytics and Learning Analytics for Qualifications-Based Learning Model (GALA4QBLM). The paper will conclude with a summary and remaining and future developments.
