Abstract:
During the pandemic, especially between 2020 and 2021, many institutions had to adapt face-to-face teaching to remote learning. In this research, we present the transition process of 18 institutions that offered technical courses promoted by the Professional and Technological Education Department (SETEC), from Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC). Some questions that were part of the script include: information about the adopted virtual platform; how the class planning was carried out; how the teaching material was made available to students; if the activities carried out in the physical laboratories were replaced; whether there was complementary assistance to students supported by tutors and how the assessments were carried out. In addition to this information, we also asked about the challenges encountered and what were the greatest difficulties encountered while performing this adaptation. Throughout 2021, these same technical courses were evaluated by students and some relevant issues are presented in this work. The objective of this research is to consolidate the results of the adaptation phase from face-to-face teaching to remote teaching and to present the students' perception about the quality of the courses. The collected information depicts the effort of institutions from different regions of the country, and their distinct realities, which tried to build a pedagogical project capable of meeting the needs of social isolation.
