Abstract:
Education is generally considered to be one of the key values of the society. In the course of the society´s development, traditional values are re-assessed and the concept of education is re-defined. There is a lack of relevant studies, interventional and research-based analyses that evaluate the work of supervising teachers. However, these teachers play the key role for the novice and pre-service teachers in the process of their professional growth. Therefore, at Tomas Bata University Faculty of Humanities in Zlín, Czech Republic, a project was designed that supports the training of supervising teachers who guide the teaching practice of students in bachelor and master degree programmes in preschool and primary school education.

The authors:
(a) present the training modules the supervising teachers passed through,
(b) they analyse the results of their training and
(c) they evaluate the overall impact of the training on knowledge and skills of future preschool and primary school teachers.
Keywords:
Supervising teacher, training module, pre-service programme, preschool, primary school.
