Abstract:
IT solutions are changing rapidly. New technologies, programming languages, network standards, utility tools and IT services are implemented and provided every day. In digital and connected 21st century people more and more frequently use ICT tools for entertainment, education and archiving professional goals. E-learning solutions, therefore, can be a good way for improving knowledge and skills especially in the area of fast changing technologies, ICT services. E-learning is not a perfect way of education. It has many advantages like accessibility, fast contend delivery, easy management, but also some disadvantages: not enough face to face interaction, dependence on technology and a lot of self-discipline required. However, nowadays many people in most areas of their activity have to or want to use ICT solutions to have easier life, be more efficient and up to date. They also try to find new ways of developing knowledge and skills in the area of digital literacy.

The aim of the paper is to present the evaluation results of e-learning course for business students. The course was prepared for master’s degree students in a blended form and concerned the use of popular SaaS applications provided by Google. The article contains description of Virtual Campus – platform used for course preparation, content delivery and communication; presents the framework of prepared e-learning course and main Moodle tools used for content delivery, repetition and final evaluation.

The main part of the article presents results of course evaluation. The evaluation questionnaire was prepared in a form of on-line survey and completed by e-learning course attendants at the end of the course. The performed analysis allow to state that young Polish business students were keen on e-learning. During the course they acquired a lot of new knowledge and skills especially in the area of using Moodle tools for creating multimedia content. The major problems reported by course attendants were: choosing one tool from many available Moodle activities and sources, time constraints and course module preparation, the need to synthesize information from many Internet sources. Students liked Moodle easiness of usage, transparency, intuitiveness and helpful Moodle community. They would like to use the e-learning tools not only for learning but also for business purposes after graduation. The course implementation and evaluation shoved also that to increase the students self-discipline, and minimize the initial barriers the course development the basic e-learning courses should be performed in a blended from and some stages of the course like: introduction, LMS platform functionality, assigning tasks, selecting tools and evaluation have to be strongly moderated by the trainer.
