Abstract:
School is confirmed as the most appropriate platform to rethink the learning process. Traditional teaching is in crisis, as schools are confronted with times, methods and content of increasing diversity. To evolve towards more open and plural methods of teaching, it is essential to develop new didactic approaches and to modify actions and spaces in tandem (Woolner 2015).

Projects involving close dialogue between education (pedagogy) and architecture (Watschinger – Weyland 2017, Weyland-Attia 2015, Ceppi, Montag Stiftung 2012, Lippman 2010, Hille 2011, Schratz 2000 to mention a few) investigate specific influences of the environment on learning, starting from the specific needs of learners.

It is important to consider support systems available to schools that allow them to transform and develop, pedagogically and architecturally.
The contribution intends to present some gains emerged from experiences started in 2012 by consulting schools and now ongoing as research-actions in collaboration between the Faculty of Education of the University of Bolzano and some schools under the name PAD (Pedagogy, architecture and design to transform schools together).

The aim of this paper is to offer some elements of reflection and to deliver solicitations and proposals work with schools to transform the traditional learning spaces in learning landscapes.
