Abstract:
Global society evolves rapidly through technological advancements to continually improve and grow, generating a need for lifelong learning. The idea of lifelong learning has become critical for individuals to participate and thrive in both personal and professional landscapes. Through the utilization of systems thinking as a foundational framework, this work aims to explore the characteristics of lifelong learning, understanding how individuals develop a mindset favorable to continuous learning and lifelong growth.
Systems thinking encourages individuals to delve deeper than linear thinking and lean into the complexity of intrinsic systems. By considering that gaining knowledge is a continual process of exploration and refining, individuals create a more robust understanding of the interconnection of information that is crucial to traverse the challenges in learning. Systems thinking enables learners to understand the interconnections between sources of knowledge and provides an essential network for growth and learning success.
Feedback loops also play a crucial role in lifelong learning, explaining the significance of adaptation, iteration, and reflection. Actively soliciting feedback from those with knowledge helps learners clarify their understanding, detect growth opportunities, and continue obtaining knowledge. The iteration process of receiving feedback and making improvements promotes continuous growth and develops strong perseverance through roadblocks of learning.
Systems thinking is a novel way to approach lifelong learning, allowing learners to create their own learning experiences to foster self-growth. This approach gives learners skills in both personal and professional senses, but it also promotes empowerment to continually learn and benefit society as a whole. Keywords:
