Abstract:

As new knowledge constantly emerges, existing knowledge becomes unsuitable; everyone should study non-stop to keep up with the times. The future belongs to those who can learn independently. The era of the "explosion of knowledge" has already arrived, and only those who know how to learn themselves can cope with the challenge easily.

A modern teacher is obliged not only to disseminate knowledge but develop students' self-learning skills. Because the lecture time in the classroom is minimal, and it is impossible to imagine mastering a foreign language only for the limited time allotted for the classroom. Ubiquitous access to the Internet makes it possible to acquire knowledge outside the textbook and find additional digital educational resources to educational content in the language being studied, presented in various forms: textual, graphic, and multimedia. And thus, it contributes to the formation of skills in 4 types of speech activity (listening, speaking, reading, writing).

WeChat and the video platform Bilibili at the moment are often used as an assistant, as the most common Chinese multifunctional software with a high rating.
This article deals with the possibility of using the learning resources hosted in WeChat's official accounts and the Bilibili platform to learn a foreign language at your leisure. Through a survey conducted with 300 Chinese students, the author concludes that the use of the WeChat's official accounts and Bilibili can make the boring process of independent learning of a foreign language attractive, at the same time improving the quality of education.
