Abstract:
In the very close past many of multi and transdicplinary study programs were created. A lot of them are surprisingly successful, a lot of them very hardly looking for their students. And a lot of them, after very good start, are trying to cope with indignant students who expected a huge interest on the labor market that had not come. Although combination of more than one discipline in the study program became more and more common, it does not mean automatic success for its authors, students or collaborators.
The main problem is hidden in the value proposition – that must be understood not only for the students, but also for all stakeholders of study programs – teachers, academics, companies that employ the alumnus of this program etc. The consequences of value proposition of every study program are very complex problem, even if the program is combination of more than one discipline. There must be clearly said for each important group of stakeholders what they can expect from this study program, its students and their competitive advantage must be defined.
The article will present the base methodology how to set up the value proposition for the multidisciplinary study program. This methodology will be compared with the research among stakeholders of the study program Service Science, Management and Engineering, (Faculty of informatics, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech republic) that will be held in term August, 25th - September, 15th 2015. The results from this research will be also presented and finally, the new outlines will be developed from the comparison.
The attendances of the conference will be asked to participate also on the special survey, related to the value proposition of university study program. Keywords:
Value proposition, trasdisciplinarity, multidisciplinarity.
