Abstract:
The paper is a presentation of the main issues within the contemporary school curricular reform in the Czech Republic. The focus is on selected change-process issues and moments that appear to be of the most crucial importance. Descriptive, analytical and comparative views are employed. The theoretical foundations come from the theory of educational changes and teachers´ resistance.

The paper particularly follows the author`s experience and results from/of:
1. teaching at, and innovating, teacher education study programmes,
2. quantitative research in the field of teacher as an innovative agent of education with further ongoing theoretical studies (2007 – 2010),
3. active participation in an applied research (2012) in the field of school self-assessment as a part of the more complex educational change,
4. 2014 survey mapping teachers´ subjective view of educational changes in the Czech Republic,
5. qualitative retrospective investigation into the process of school curricular reform undergoing in the Czech Republic since 2001.
