Abstract:
Within the framework of the Finnish government funded Language Boost Project, a special network is being created for teachers teaching Swedish as a second language for international students. Such a network has not existed before and there is a great demand for it, since collaboration is needed to create better possibilities for international experts to learn Swedish and to integrate in Swedish in Finland.
The aim of the network is to promote collaboration between teachers and institutions of higher education. The members of the network can support each other when it comes to didactics and also share ideas and best practices. Also the students will benefit from the teacher's collaboration in different ways. A course search tool is being created, which allows students to search courses by the format (online or face to face), level, time and place. The course search tool will also include self-study material for those who prefer to study independently, regardless of if they are attending a teacher-led course or not. The teacher network will collaborate with building and updating the material bank and ensuring high quality of the material included. Keywords:
