Abstract:
Minecraft is the most popular sandbox video game, which was released in 2011. Since his releasing it has won numerous awards and accolades. Minecraft enables players in a three-dimensional environment place and breaks various types of blocks. There are several types of Minecraft versions. In November 2016 has been released Minecraft: Education Edition, which offers huge possibilities for using Minecraft in the education process. Minecraft: Education Edition provides opportunities for children to develop their computational and mathematical thinking. For teaching coding, it is possible to use online environment Microsoft MakeCode to program mini-games, automated builds, various type of behavior (for example where the animals will spawn) in Minecraft. It is possible to use two programming languages - the visual block-based editor similar to Scratch, or the JavaScript editor. The contribution deal with experiences and tasks with teaching programming in block-based editor mounted into the Minecraft world.
