Abstract:
In this paper, we describe how teachers can easily create two variants of math tests using the new Math4Teacher application. This application is part of the Math4U (math4u.vsb.cz) portal and is freely available to all teachers.

The Maht4Teacher app works with a database of 5,900 multiple-choice questions. These questions are divided into 12 topics, 56 subtopics, and 160 parts, covering all secondary school mathematics. Also included in the database are 2,000 twin questions designed to create two test versions. These are interlinked pairs of questions of the same difficulty and content.

When working with the app, the teacher selects questions from the database and uses these questions to create a test for the students. The teacher builds one variant of the test, and the second variant is generated automatically. In doing so, the teacher can choose one of three options as the output. The first output option labelled "PDF", is the print-ready test papers. These can then be printed and distributed to students. The second possibility is "I-PDF" tests. These are fully interactive PDF files suitable for use with an interactive whiteboard or computer. Students click on the correct answers and receive a verbal and graphical evaluation when the test is completed.

The final, very new option is an output labelled "T4U". These are HTML tests that students can open using the client web application Test4U on their mobile phone, tablet or computer. When creating this output, the teacher gets a unique code for the test. This code is given to students to log into the test. Students will open variant A or variant B as instructed by the teacher. When the test is completed, the results are promptly sent back to Math4Teacher. The teacher immediately sees not only the results of individual students but also the success rates of each question.

The Math4Teacher and Test4U apps are available in five languages (Spanish, English, Czech, Slovak and Polish). The teacher can prepare the same test in different languages, which can be used, for example, in bilingual schools. Another great advantage is that the teacher's test (in one of these languages) can be switched to another language by the students in the Test4U app.

Students log in to the app via a web interface and do not need an account. However, the teacher must create a Math4Teacher app account (the account is free). This will allow him/her access to all his/her previously created tests and student results.

With this app, the teacher can prepare two tests at the same time as one test. Additionally, if students take a test in the new Test4U app, the teacher will have both versions of the test corrected immediately. These new functionalities of the Math4Teacher app not only significantly save teachers' time but also give them a quick overview of which questions students make the most mistakes on. Allowing the teacher to focus only on these problematic questions makes the teaching process more efficient.

The Math4U portal is designed for practising secondary school mathematics. The portal has been developed since 2016 during the implementation of the Math Exercises for You 1, 2 (2016-2019, 2019-2022) projects supported by the Erasmus+ programme.
