Abstract:
Is necessary for students and graduate civil engineers understand the problems of land use and regional planning? Or is enough to have a good technical background without understanding of impacts and connections of new project building?

Or team of Lecturers recognise that our graduates have a good knowledge and information to create a project on buildings, but have less idea about the question connecting with sustainable development whole settlement ( city, municipality).

This article will describe the process of preparing useful educational structure to give our student opportunity to get basic information and understanding about the urban development quickly and efficiently.

The system of preparing the educational structure was based on 5 workshops (during the 3 years) with the main idea focused on redevelopment of area which can be named as brownfield. The article describes system of leading the students which we were testing. The text will also inform about the system of dividing students into the groups. (Students studied different fields of study). Our workshops attended students from 6 faculties from Czech Republic. Foreign student were also part of working groups (usually students from Poland and from Slovak). During each of the workshops we did an evaluation focused on students understanding problems and their ability for cooperation in multidisciplinary group (civil engineers, planners of regional development, economists, sociologist, architects, and environmental engineers). After the final presentation we asked external experts on theirs opinions.

Based on this evaluation, we made changes in systems of workshops. The article will show our results. "Best way" how to prepare educational structure of workshop (intensive transfer of knowledge in short time) as part of our education system, to give a students maximum useful information, time for thinking about problems and finally how to find a integrated idea about steps which will be necessary done for sustainable development former and under used areas.
