Abstract:

VŠB Technical University of Ostrava financially supported small student research projects in doctoral and master's degree programs. Within the support of specific research is every year organized Student Grant Competition “SGS”. Student Grant Competition offers students the opportunity to raise funds for research. These projects are focused on topics of diploma thesis or dissertation. Projects “SGS” are particularly suitable as support to start scientific work of students in the initial phase of their studies. Projects “SGS” enable purchase of materials, measuring equipment and so on. But they support subsequent publishing too. The publishing is main output except valuable results and research findings. This article describes the “SGS” grant competition rules and requirements for project outputs. This article also shows the way of solution of several research projects focused on research of natural building materials.
