Abstract:

The article describes the main aims and achievements of the research project named "Innovation of study programs and enhancement of interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of designing and fire safety of buildings". Project has started in December 2011 and is getting closer to its conclusion. Main objective of the project is the innovation of study programs and enhancement interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of designing and fire safety of buildings between Faculty of Civil Engineering VŠB and the Faculty of Safety Engineering VŠB. The project target group are students of Master's degree programs "Buildings Constructions“ at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and "Fire Protection Engineering and Industrial Safety“ at the Faculty of Safety Engineering. The project also involved doctoral students of both schools. The project involved a number of excursions and workshops. There were created some interactive educational materials of the innovative subjects. One of the main aims of the project was the “Fire Test of a real Wooden House”. Fire test was successfully held April 24, 2014.
