Abstract:
The article presents the paradigm of 21st century Lithuanian music education, based on the original considerations of Professor Stasys Šalkauskis (1886-1941), the pioneer of national philosophical pedagogy. In his philosophical pedagogical works, Šalkauskis presents specific categories of “full-fledged education”, “integrated synthetism” and other philosophical, close to the geopolitical situation in Lithuania (“between East and West”). The most famous student of S. Šalkauskis, his doctoral student and fellow professor, philosopher Antanas Maceina calls it "idealistic realism".

In 2020, Lithuania celebrated the thirtieth anniversary of the Restoration of Independence. For half a century (1940 - 1990), Lithuanian schools introduced the views and ideas of the Soviet period to children and young people. Education is based purely on the views of Soviet materialism. The spread of fundamental values (Truth, Goodness, Beauty) and virtues (Faith, Hope, Love) was strictly transformed into the worship of the Great Soviet Homeland and the only party of the time. This band does not fade quickly. Pedagogical courage, professional qualifications and the sincere efforts of teachers and lecturers are needed to firmly implement the new pedagogy and educology based on ideas of democracy and humanism. The paradigm of idealistic realism is a very useful philosophical-pedagogical-methodological tool for the formation of full-fledged musical education in music pedagogy for the general musical education of 21st century Lithuania.
