Abstract:
This article is devoted to the analysis of existing trends of higher education assessment in the context of global dimension, in particular those that influence the development and formation of global market of educational services. It has been established that general and special indicators and factors are used for the assessment of higher education in a global dimension in modern society. Worldwide ratings (an acknowledged means of the quality confirmation of the universities activities) are analyzed in detail. It is stated that the criteria for assessing the state of development and quality of educational services are formed by international institutions, and their reports are used to determine the international competitiveness of universities and affect the main categories of institutional processes of universities, namely, to clarify the institutional profile, improve the public image and adjust the main activities
