Abstract:
Introduction:
Traditionally, the evaluation has been seen as the means that allows to measure, qualify and classify students. In this article we will analyze what is the perception of the assessment for learning among teachers of the Social Sciences careers of the universities of Metropolitan Lima during the Covid-19 pandemic. For this we use the assessment for learning approach. According to Chappuis and Stiggins (2012), this approach has five keys: clear purpose, clear learning outcomes, effective design, effective communication, and student participation. In recent literature, the subject has been approached from the perspective of the use of computer applications for the evaluation of learning in early childhood education, the use of microblogging tools to evaluate dialogic interactions in secondary education, the use of wikis for formative evaluation of future teachers, the use of tablets in primary and secondary school as a tool for learning and assessment, the influence of the use of ICT on the academic performance of students and, finally, the perception of students about the use of self-assessment as a tool for learning.
Methodology:
For this purpose, an investigation was carried out based on an interpretive paradigm, of a qualitative type and phenomenological design. The focus group was used as a technique for collecting empirical evidence. A focus group was held with twelve participants, teachers of Social Sciences careers from private universities in Metropolitan Lima. The information collected was analyzed using the qualitative analysis software Atlas.ti and the triangulation of researchers.
Results:
The results obtained show that the participants have limited knowledge of the subject without appreciating significant differences between the five keys.
Discussion and conclusions:
It was concluded that the evaluation for learning is transversal to the careers of social sciences and that the interest towards it is homogeneous in all the participants. For future research, it is recommended to analyze the perception of evaluation for learning in careers of other disciplines. Keywords:
