Abstract:
This research work presents an innovative approach to facilitate the application of the Least Squares Method, through a Graphical User Interface executable, developed in the Matlab environment. The Least Squares Method is a widely used technique in data analysis and model fitting, which seeks to find the best approximation between experimental data and a theoretical model. This executable provides users with a user-friendly and interactive platform to perform linear and polynomial nonlinear regression analysis using the Least Squares Method. The interface allows loading data in excel format or manually, indicates the degree of the polynomial and the value to be found. In addition, it incorporates the ability to visualize the regression coefficients, the coefficient of determination and its graph. Thus, the executable serves as a didactic tool for students and professionals to be able to perform a series of analyses and adjustments based on data from different specialties in a simple way.
