Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming society and our lives. In higher education, AI and augmented reality (AR) permit instructors to create new digital learning environments in order to prepare students for 21st century skills. In the next 30 years jobs will completely change and educators have the challenge to explore how technology could be used to face this transformation and provide more enrichful and meaningful educational experiences. In this research, ninehteen studies were systematically reviewed to analyze the advantages about the adoption of AI and AR as pedagogical teaching resources. Results show that AI and AR are a cornerstone for educational innovation, using both as a pedagogical teaching resource can contribute to provide more consistent learning experiences vinculated with the acquisition of real-world skills. The research reveals that AI and AR potential learning experiences and student engagement, improving collaborative learning, critical thinking, project-based learning and simulations.
