Abstract:
Since the Bologna Declaration, in 1999, Higher Education has been changing. Both students and teachers have to adapt to the new challenges. Technology is being developing very fast and can and must be incorporated in the teaching and learning paradigm. B-Learning can be a very good model particularly in higher education as many students are living far away from their faculties and also because there are students that work at the same time and have difficulties to find time to attend classes. This paper aims to show advantages and disadvantages of B-learning and how technology can be used to keep the students motivated in their learning process and to achieve success. An experience with a Mathematics course that was implemented successfully is described. Twelve students accept the challenge to participate in this experience. Initially a timeline was defined, where the contents of the course were distributed along it, some contact sessions using hangout were settled as well as some presential classes.
