Abstract:
One key takeaway from the pandemic has been the ability to effectively collaborate regardless of geographical boundaries. In the following paper, we shall delve into our experience utilizing Gather.town, a virtual platform, to facilitate a real-time, interactive, and engaging review of various topics. Through our use of this platform, we discovered the efficacy of incorporating a playful approach to enhance learning outcomes.

Gather.town is a virtual platform that allows users to create and customize their own virtual spaces. It provides a unique and interactive experience by simulating a physical environment where users can navigate their avatars and interact with others in real-time using video, audio, and chat functions. Additionally, Gather.town features various tools to facilitate collaboration and engagement, such as shared whiteboards, presentations, and games. It also allows for the integration of external applications, making it versatile for different use cases.

This platform offers teachers an opportunity to create an immersive virtual world that is relevant to the subject matter. Within this world, a variety of educational resources are shared, including explanations, review exercises, and other relevant materials.

What makes this platform unique is that students can access these resources at their own pace and are not isolated in their learning. Even if students are in their pajamas within the comfort of their own rooms, they can actively engage in collaborative learning in a virtual world that resembles a video game.
